I have a BCM50 Version 1.002.94.j I know, OLD version, but I don't think I have a need to upgrade it.
I have added an expansion cabinet. I am using the supplied cable with the cabinet.
The cable is plugged into the BOTTOM port on the expansion cabinet, and port 2 on the main BCM cabinet.
Both lights on the port of the exp cabinet where the Ethernet cable is plugged in, are solid green.
I have a CTM8 MBM in the exp cabinet. All dip switches on the card are set to on.
The power and status light on the CTM8 are both solid green.

In Element Manager under keycodes "Exp Port" is set to 1.
Under "Telephony Resources' Expansion 1 and 2 both show as empty.

Shouldn't these be set to something other than empty? I am trying to set the system up to see the lines, but I can't seem to get it to work...
Thanks for any assistance provided!!!
JW

In Resources you also need to tell it what kind of MBM you are using or it will show empty because it does not auto detect, there is a drop down menu to choose from.

Can you post a copy of your keycode license so that we can check if you have the expansion 118 code as it should be either a 1 or 2 for one or two expansion modules.

exsmogger: I mis spoke. When I said i was in port 2, I meant the second lan port, the first expansion port.

Curlycord. You are a genius. I have respected your posts since I first came to tek-tips. I have read tons of your posts, many have helped over the years!!!!

You correctly diagnosed my problem today. drop down menu (slapping forehead and exclaiming DOH!) I didn't even think to look for something like that because there was no arrow. Sheesh I am so spoiled.
I hit the drop down, told the EXP module what MBM I had in there, and low and behold it gave me options to enable expansion 1.1 and 1.2 (4 lines each) WOOHOO got lines out to my first phone. I am thrilled and I truly appreciate your help!!!
