I have a R1 BCM50 that I need to get a call logging output from, preferably in CSV format or similar. Any suggestions as I seem to be getting nowhere fast!

BCM 50 does not have any kind of serial stream. They offer an CDR Push/Pull mechanism and a socket stream. Both require Nortel tools to work. Some Nortel Developer partners offer collection software and call accounting because they are given the APIs to use. RSI has the largest collection of BCM tools for data collection. You can also contact your vendor about Nortel's Activity Reporter. It is a call accounting system specifically for BCM Rls. 3.0 and greater (and now the 450).

Thanks for that. The hope was that if the data could be provided in CSV format customised manipulation would be easier.

I should have mentioned that we are about to upgrade this BCM50 to R3 software shortly. I believe that a cut down version of Activity Reporter is available as an internal download, although I'm not sure of it's capabilities yet. I understand that this has to be loaded on a client PC.

The internal activity reporter is not downloadable. In fact, it is limited in scope. It only retains 4 days of data before discarding it for the next day. It has some static reports but then again what do you expect for free!

If you need CSV, you will need external software to manipulate the Nortel SMDR data for you. Activity Reporter puts the data in some database (SQL I think) and it could be retrieved from there. But that is only in the downloadable version.
