BCM50 -BCM450 Migration

Hi Guys,

Doing my first 50 to 450 migration. Just curious if they need to be on the same release for migrating keycodes ?

For example if I've a 50 R2 and a 450 R6 can I just use the migrarion keycode ? or do I need to upgrade the 50 to R6 ?

Judging from the price list I can, but just want to be sure

I found this on a BCM doc but it doeen't say about a s/w level.

KeyCode migration for BCM50 to
BCM450 replacement
Customers will be able to migrate relevant software keys when replacing a BCM50 system with a BCM450
system (typically to address growth requirements.

It does say that the BCM 50 5.0 and 450 5.0 are the first levels that are the same.

Yeah cook, i've been checking around and there is nothing definite. Might just upgrade upgrade the 50 to be on the safe side. Don't to be pulling my hair out in a comms room on a Saturday. Been there enough times

I would assume you would have to upgrade also. I mean we have to upgrade the 400 before migration so thinking along those lines the 50 should be the same. Can you let us know what you find out?
