I programmed and installed a BCM50 plain, enabled it at the start, and even made a 2nd trip to premises to re-enable the modem since it was disabled somehow.

Anyone come across this before?

The modem doesn't answer anymore, even though it used to.

Does 9*8 toggle the modem on and off? When the customer dials that code, it asks for a password. Without revealing the password on these boards, is the pw in the docs somewhere?
Thanks for any assistance folks.

Did you uncheck "auto disable" on the modem properties page in Element Manager?

Don't know if the modem can be turned on/off via telset or not. I'm sure it can.

Yep I have seen this once even with auto disable disabled, the BCM 50 does do some dodgy things but alot is fixed up with the latest service pack from nortel.com

Yes the password is in the docs, it's the default programming password and user ID... And yes, you can disable/enable the modem from a telset

Auto disable is on by default it will time out after 30 min in not disabled
