Hey Everyone,

I have an employee who works at home part-time and I've set her up with an i2002 phone.

As she already has an extension at the office (2223), I set up an Answer DN on her i2002 (for 2223), so that employees can always reach her at 2223, whether she is at the home or at the ofice.

I wanted to set it up as "Ring Only" however, I noticed the only two options available are "Appr Only" and "Appr & Ring"... which I found odd as the documentation indicates "Ring Only" is a possible option..... as well as that option is availabe when setting up "Line Access" settings.

Now I've had quirks with this system in the past (BCM partially losing configuration after reboot / power loss ... and not being able to dial a DN externally when a CCR Tree is enabled), but my question is: When you set up an Answer DN, do you have the Ring Only option available?

Appr & Ring Works fine.... however as the i2002 has a limited number of buttons, I'd rather assign it to another feature as she has no need to monitor, or call her office extension using that button.

Thanks

I have never known of Answer DN allowing Ring only.

Thanks Everyone, I guess this is one of those cases where the BCM documentation / help files need "updating" heh.

kungfumstr, All of our office phones are digital sets. While it would be possible to provide her with an IP phone, we're trying to utilize the resources we currently have, so it makes sense for her to keep her T7208.

I think you can make a Hunt Group Ring only. so if you made the Hunt Group DN 2223 then madee both phones members of that group that might work without using any extra keys.

im assuming that u have two ip phones, with hotdesking you wouldnt have to worry about all this mess. once enabled the hotdesk enabled phone will assume the programming of the one in the office.
