I have seen a couple BCM50(s) in which lines 61-64 have ringing issues, cut offs, cant't break dt, one way transmission. Anyone else with similar issues on the BCM 50?
Thanks

Yes and Yes

We sold a BCM50 a couple of weeks ago. About ten days after the install, line 061 could not break dial tone. And one way talk path on incoming calls on line 061. Lines 062, 063, 064 are fine. I opened a tac case with Nortel and they said we need to do a level two reset. Proceedure is in the Install and operations guide. This will default the system. And then Nortel told me to program the BCM50 from scratch. A tech is going out tonight to perform this proceedure. I will post back tomorrow.

Level 2 reset seems to be the fix. My tech went out to site last night. The problem seems to have gone away. Make sure you have your keycodes handy. FYI.

Question

Did you program your BCM threw the phone or threw element manager?

We too have done the level 2 reset. It cleared up issue for one site, but was not the fix for other sites. Have a couple of NT cases open. Programmed via EM. Some ETAS cases resulted in immediate system replacement. Other cases with same issue required us to supply logs..etc. Couldn't pick up a pattern on the ETAS logic. Seemed to be just different tshooting tacs being taken by NT engineers.
Thanks for the posts.

It seems the level 2 reset on the BCM50 only worked for a couple of days. Issue with line 061 came back this weekend. Going to replace the unit this week.

We had the same issue with two out of the 4 that I installed. We went ahead and got advanced replacements and swapped out the machines but here is a nice little note:
to be able to enter the keycodes manually, you will have to do the one and only BCM 50 patch. If you pull directly form a KMT file it will work without the patch. What was the "second level reset"? I would assume that there is a patch for the trunk issue due out soon.

The level 2 reset is in the Installaiotn and Maintenace guide. Do a search on reset and you'll find it. I hope a patch comes out soon for the trunk issues. It has been a real night mare.
