Hi guys,

I have a customer in Barbados that is trying to dial internationally off of a BCM50. He can dial 7 digit local numbers but that is all.

Calling into the US, they are regular 11 digit numbers. Just like a long distance call. When he dials the number, it just sits there and sits there and sits there. I asked if it ever timed out on him and he said he didn't wait that long to see.

He's going out to site today and I thought of looking into the Dialing Plan section. But he says that this a pretty basic system. He never changed anything in the Dialing Plan. Therefore, the 1 prefix should still be at 11 which is correct.

Any ideas of where to look for trouble?

Thanks
Melissa

Have a look under dialing plan public. In the window you will see different prefixs. Check the prefix for the number and add the leading digit and length of the number. This is very similar to Flen and dialing plan on the Meridian.

Like I said, we've looked under the dialing plan already. They do have 7 digit dialing on the island, so I cannot change the default prefix to 11. The 1 + dialing is at 11 digits which is default for that prefix. It is 11 digits to get to the states for them.

As an update, they called back and said that the issue was with their provider (themselves) not the system itself. Which is good.

Thanks anyway! ;-)
