This issue has been going for weeks, and we have tried all possible scenario including reinstalling the operating system and installed the application from scratch.

RCC utility fails at:
Reports Folder not found
could not connect to server:

Under Report Service Configuration Manager running as Administrator; It shows ReportServer under Report Server Virtual Directory and Reports under Report Manager Virtual Directory. Where it should say ReportServer$RCCSQLEXPR and Reports$RCCSQLEXPR

When I try to add the database it gives following error

ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.WMIProviderException: The virtual directory specified is not valid. Make sure the specified name is not too long and doesn't contain illegal characters. (example: ;)
at ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.RSReportManagerAdmin.CreateVirtualDirectory(String virtualDirectory, String path)

fyi: under IIS setting everyone have full rights to “rcc, ReportServer, Reports”

I had this problem and I had to get the customer to send out another computer with a fresh operating system. This happened after we had the RCC fail and I uninstalled everything as I normally do for RCC installations. The only difference was that I was uninstalling the lastest BCM 400 RCC release and I think it's now different to the older issues.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

IVU fails during report service which could not connect to server.

Resolution Plan

On RCC web host PC:

Select Start->All programs->Microsoft SQL Server->Configuration Tools->Reporting Services Configuration.
Choose Instance name (i.e. RCCSQLEXPR), select 'Connect'.
Select 'Report Server virtual directory'.
Select 'Apply default settings'.
Select 'Apply'.
Select 'Report Manager virtual directory'.
Select 'Apply default settings'.
Select 'Apply'.
Ensure the first 6 items on the left hand bar are ticked, in particular check 'Web Service Identity'. If it is not ticked, click on it. You may be presented 'Specify the Application pool in which to run the report server web service' with selectable pools for: Report Server and Report Manager. Select the appropriate pool, for example, nortel.
Run IVU again.

I have already done that and it shows check marks for all six, but still it doesn't connect.

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for late posting.. Here is solution to my RCC Issue.

goto Administrative Tools and click on Services

goto RCC service properties and change Recovery option to "Restart the Service"

Run the RCC Verification Utility as Administrator, and it will give you check marks all the way through...
