BCM50 6.0 no free lines

Hello,

I'm getting a BCM50 6.0 ready to install next week and have run into an odd problem.

The new 6.0 will be installed at a distant branch office and connected via voip trunks to a BCM50 6.0 at a customer home office near where I work.

I've set the new 6.0 up at the customer's nearby home office and have it connected to the home office 6.0 in the same subnet for programming and testing.

Everything's been working fine for the last 3-4 days but this morning I got a "no free lines" display and a fast busy when trying to call through the voip trunks to a home office extension.

I checked the active voip lines program field and it was empty.

After doing a graceful shutdown then powering the BCM back up, the trouble was clear and I was able to make several voip trunk calls.

Then 15-20 minutes later, I tried to dial another network call and after a long pause the call went to fast busy without the "no free lines" display.

Now it's working again without me changing anything.

Can anyone shine some light on what the problem might be?
 
Did you check the alarms?

Is the same VOIP protocols set in each system and do they both have the latest system patches installed?.

curlycord - I failed to check the alarm log before shutting the system down. Then I checked the alarm log after turning the system back on and nothing was there except entries related to the shutdown and powering back up.


FirebirdScrambler - both systems have the same VOIP protocols but I'm not sure if they both have the latest system patches.

Where do I find current system patches?

I see a long list of BCM50 patches on Avaya's support website but I'm not sure which one will correct the trouble I'm having.
 
Strange that a Rls 6 would loose it's alarms on a reboot.

Click our FAQ's tab up top to see a list of patches (but not the fixes), it will show the latest ones that you should download which is the System and Desktop patches.

Maybe post a screen shot of the patches you do have.

Your BCM 50 systems will need the system 022 patch for release 6.0. Install them and see if the problem still persists.

Also check the routers at each site to see if the same ports are sets for VOIP trunks.

Also install the latest desktop patch whilst you are doing the system one. I think it was desktop 005.

I'd actually check and install all the ones listed below.

I'll be back at the site early Monday morning and will follow your advice and recommendations.
 
Okay, I checked the patches that had already been installed and all of the ones FirebirdScrambler specified are there with the exception of the UTPS-138 patch in the new 6.0.

Our vendor has agreed to send the UTPS-138 patch to me.

* I've been testing voip calls between the two systems regularly and there's been no further evidence of trouble since last Friday morning.
