BCM50 450 Multi Image Hard Drive

I had a BCM50 stop working. It was stuck a boot sequence. I tried all the resets and nothing work. So I got a replacement hard drive. Unfortunatly I didnt know what release they were on. When I booted up the hard drive it gave me 3 options, Rel.1,2 or 3. Again I wasnt sure so I went with 1. It was the wrong choice when I went to restore my backup it said wrong version and failed. Is there a way to go back into the hard drive and select a different version of the software? The SSH connection is no longer valid.

Don't think so. You could have retrieved the keycode from krs to see the version.

No there isn't. Once you select thed release, all the other stuff is erased. You need to get another one.

The only way to get back to the original (multi image) image is to get another multi image drive and use some disk cloning tool to copy its contents to the converted disk.

Probably an easier approach would be to get another R3 drive and clone that one (R3 is significantly smaller so the cloning is faster). If you have another BCM50 with the release you need (likely R3 as that was the highest release you could have selected), clone that drive to the multi image - now R1 - disk.

Are you able to get hold of the serial number underneath the BCM unit. It's usually the MAC address number and from there it's possible to find out the version number on the Avaya KRS site.
