Bcm50 323 trunks bandwidth issues

I have 2bcms networked
One side got hacked so I decided to put behind Sonicwall tz100 inside VPN
Trouble with bandwidth now audio quality is choppy
Where do reduce the bandwidth on the audio path?
Can I do sip between sites rather than h323 with bcms?

did you enable QOS on your firewall?

Yes I have qos enabled but it still is choppy audio in one direction.
THe bandwidth is limited. I am wondering if 729a is a good option to try for codec bw reduction.
