I am having trouble with a BCM50 3.0 and Wireless 6120 Phones.
No matter what I do, these phones just will not sync. The BCM50 3.0 is connected to Port 21 on a Cisco 2960 Switch. There is a Nortel 2245 Wireless Telephony Manager connected to Port 22 on Cisco Switch, while a Cisco 1242 Access Point is connected to Port 23 on a Cisco 2960 Switch.
THe 6120 Phones connect to the Cisco Access Point however, they always display "NO SVP RESPONSE" and the IP Address of the 2245 IP Manager.

I have flashed the 6120 phones with the latest firmware 115_022, 2245 Telephony Manager has firmware 174.024/175.024. I have read the manuals so many times that this is getting to be unbelieveable. Can the Cisco Equipment be blocking something? Customer has setup vlan 10 for the cisco switch ports I plug into and I can ping all Nortel equipment, program the BCM, 2245 IP Manager but the phones just wont sync.

BCM IP: 10.10.10.100
2245 IP MAnager IP: 10.10.10.101
6120 IP Phones IP: 10.10.10.148 ~ 150 THe 6120 Phones are programmed for Terminal Type: OTHER, SVP IP: 10.10.10.101 (2245 IP Manager), CALL sERVER 1: IS SET TO BCM IP: 10.10.10.100.

Anyone have similiar issues and also maybe some suggesstions?

I didn't install one for long time but as i recall the "first alias-Last alias" need to be different then your 10.10.10.148~150 ip phone adresses on your 2245.The 2245 act as a proxy between the phones and the bcm.

Yes, they are. The aliases are: 10.10.10.180~ 182.

I was finally able to sync the 6120 IP Handsets to the BCM50 3.0 and the 2245 IP Telephony Manager. However, I do not get any speaach path.

THe 6120 IP Phones regioster with the BCM50, I then enter the password and the DN but I get no speech path. When I try and call the DN, x301, x302 or x303 I receive a fast busy.

I believe the problem to be on the customer LAN at this point. As all other issues have also been with the customer LAN.

Thanks for the assistance. By the way, these have been a real B**CH to install. Once you install these style phones, you will never forget the fun involved.

Note: All alias addresses must be on the same subnet as the WLAN IP Telephony Manager 2245. The IP addresses cannot be duplicated on other subnets or WLAN IP Telephony Managers 2245. There is no limit to the number of IP addresses that can be assigned, but the capacity of each WLAN IP Telephony Manager 2245 is 500 wireless handsets

If you can register the phones to the BCM, you should be able to at least call the wireless phones as they use the same port (7000) for signalling as they do for registering. If you can at least call them and can't talk, there is likely some port blocking going on somewhere on that network. A bit unusual on a flat network though.

What I would do to prove my own stuff is grab an 8 port D-Link switch or similar and connect all the Nortel devices through it (in other words, set up your own mini network off the customers network) and see if the wireless phones can call each other and talk through it. If they can, the problem is in the customer network. If not, you can have a look at the configuration of the APs but they don't normally do any kind of blocking, just authentication of some sort if it's been set up on them.

Yep, I have setup my own network and the phones register with the BCM as well as the 2245 Telephony Manager and we can successfully make and receive calls.
This time, I stepped on-site armed ith every tool necessary to analyze the Hardware, Software and Network. I only needed to setup a Network Sniffer and capture some Network Traffic to find that the customer was Filtering Layer 3 and had the BCM on a completely different subnet than all other equipment.
So, once the necessary changes were made to the customers Network I am happy to report that the 6120 IP Phones work very well.
Thank you to all for your unwaivering support!
Additionally, I am in the process of authoring a step-by-step manual for the preparation, set-up and installation of the 6120/6140 IP Phones with a 2245 IP Telephony Manager and BCM50-3.0.
I was very disappointed in the lack of information on this equipment and the omitted information that was not in any of the Nortel Installation and Maintenance Manuals or other related literature.

Glad to see it's now working, thanks for the update.
