Can some one tell me how to make overflow work. Scenario

I have a pri, if it fails i want calls to go out over copper trunks, i have overflow checked on the route b ut it does not work. Routing service is turned on, schedule 5 4am to 4am 7 days a weak.

Try 12:01 am to 11:59 pm and see what you get. I've had better luck that way when trying to do 24 hours.

I tries different combos on the schedule, i even set it to manual using FTR 873 to turn on and off, NO LUCK at all

Thanks

You need to go to routing-Destination codes- and assign your frist route then your second route against the schedule that you are using.

Been there Done that, im on with Nortel right now trying to figure out why, this BCM may be broken.

TRY THIS SET UP USED ON BCM 3.6 TO ROUTE VIA ANOTHER CARRIER

Call Routing: Expensive Route Overflow.

How to set up calls to overflow from one line group to another line group using a routing service.

Example: A customer has 2 companies supplying lines.
- AT&T
- C&W

The customer would like calls to go out on the C&W lines First. If these lines are busy then the calls will overflow to the AT&T lines and give the user a warning when they access these lines.

What is needed to set this up.

- The lines will need to placed into different line pools.
- A routing table needs to be set up using the line access code e.g 9.
- A route will be need to direct calls for each group of lines.
- The routing service will need to be activated.

How is this Achieved

- Put the lines for C&W in line pool B
- Put the lines for AT&T in line pool A
- Remove the line pool codes for A and B. and exchange line code e.g Normally 9
- Set up route 001 to use Pool A ,dial out No Number (eg expensive route)
- Set up route 002 to use Pool B, dial out No Number (eg cheap route)
- Add A Designation Code .eg 9 This is normally 9.
- Absorb all digits
- Use route 002, (cheap route) press next,
- This is were you now enter the second route , we will use Night, Default None
- Press change, enter route 001 (this is the overflow route)
- Press Next, set overflow to Y.
- Set routing service Night to Manual. This will allow the service to be switched on.

What happens Now.

- At Extn 221 Switch on the routing service , (Feature 873 , password 23646.)
- Service modes will now be on.

When the user dials 9 for an outside line, they will be routed to route 002(cheap route). If the lines within Pool B are busy then they will overflow into pool A.
When this happens a warning tone will be heard and Expensive Route will be displayed on the users Telephone Display Screen.
