I have a US BCM50 3.0 that when displaying caller ID for SIP trunks, it is formatted oddly.

For example, if the phone number is "(650)555-5555", the call logs will show the number as "555-5555(650)" -- the area code is moved to the end of the number.

Anyone have a clue on how to correct this?

Thanks,
Robert

You might try this and see if the format is an option:
FEATURE *84
Select the type of calls that are stored automatically in your Call Log. Press
# to see the next setting. Press HOLD to select the displayed setting.

The documentation contains this statement:
Information, such as long distance indicator and the caller name and number, may not show in the
log. The appearance depends on the Call Display services provided by your local telephone
company, and the local telephone company at the caller end.

Is it coming thru the monitor that way?

The BCM monitor, CDR, Activity Reporter show the number correctly as with the area code first. It's only incorrect in the Call Log display of the phones (1140Es).

I updated the unit last night with all the current software updates, but it is still having the weird display issue.

SupportDude: Good idea! Although I still think it is odd. The unit is installed where 10-digit dialing is mandatory for all local numbers. I will give this a try when I am back on-site this afternoon.

Feature *84 was no help. Still showing caller ID number with the area code after the number, not before.

Oh Call log. That is the way it is, Nortel is still on the 7 digit mode and if you do a reply you have to dial the area code then press the line and the rest of the digits will be dialed.

Ahh! So its just one of those archaic Nortel hold-overs one must live with. Thanks for the confirmation.

I've been digging through my manuals, forums, friends, etc. No one seemed to know if / how it could be changed.

It's a shamed that Nortel hasn't fixed this, as so much of the USA is mandatory 10-digit dialing. Heck, where I live we have 3 Area Codes that are considered "local", so 7-digit dialing has long since been deprecated.
