We are setting up a BRI to call to Europe and I think the BRI card may be bad but I want to see if the config is right before I change out the card.

My boss set this up so I don't have the BCM config, but it is connected to a new cisco router (2811 I believe) with a BRI S/T WIC. We cannot get any lights on the card when connected to the Router and have tried disable/enable and every different setting we can think of.

When the Router is connected to the telco BRI that is also on site the lights come on and we see connectivity.

All the lights on the BCM work (no errors), it is brand new, and the BRI card is in the second expansion slot with the 2 green lights on it. The loop light does not come on, and we have the right cable connected to it.

What I am asking is what setting have people been using and for troubleshooting what problems have you come across?

Thanks, and any input would help.

1) I think you speak about a BCM50. All dip switch must be set ON on the expansion unit.
2) Then license for expansion must be loaded
3) Then the correct module type must be selected on "telephony resources"
4) verify TX+ RX+ TX- RX- connection on the cable

Bye!!

Everything was done right, but we found that the main cabinet was faulty after trying to program some other settings.
