Have any of you experienced problems routing call over a partial PRI on the BCM50 2.0? I have disabled all but the first 10 PRI lines. The telco has provisioned the PRI to only have the first 10 channels and the D channel active. When I tried to place a call, BCM monitor showed that it used line 074, the 10th PRI line, but the telco tech monitoring the PRI said the call hit the 23rd channel, and the call failed to connect. When they activate that channel the call is successful or if I set the BCm to use the lines in decending order, the calls successfully go out on line 65. Incoming calls are connected on line 65 successfully.

I have had it on a fractional PRI the setting needs to be acending where a full would be decending.

You have to disable the PORT also, I had this problem also.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

The ascending answer is correct just happened to me two weeks ago

I had 6 sites with T1's and it doesn't make any difference if you have a full or partial T1. you have to deprovision the Channel's your not going to use and disable the port's also or the BCM will try to access it and go out on channel 23. it doesn't have any thing to do with ascending or desending.

Ace, how do you disable the ports on a BCM50 2.0? I see where you deprovision the lines but not the ports.

You deprovision in resorces On that card. But I have seen the opposite that it will grab channel 23 amd work on a fractional PRI. the BCM channels dont corraspond to the pri cirucit channels the BCM will use the channels alloted untill there are no more to use.But it is best to deprovision. And also accending dones make a differance.Mabe it has something to do with the carrier.

Yes Ascending will work until you get to the Channel/port that hasn't been disabled. ie your using all 12 ports and someone tries to make a call, they will grab channel 13, which doesn't have anything on it.

Depending which BUS you have ti in, each MOD has PORTS such as BUS 2 PORTS 201-232, BUS 3 PORTS 301-332 ect

If you have the T1 in BUS 7 you would have PORTS 701-724 and Channels 1-24. If you only have 12 Channels and you deprovision Channels 13-23 and use 24 for DCH, someone can still hit channel 13-23 if there not disabled by PORTS.

Don't have a BCM available to look at, so I'm going from memory. Under resources you can get to the PORTS and that is where you disable them.

I had this happen a the last site I installed a T1 and yes it worked using Ascending until the 13th user tried to make a call.

Thanks , everyone. I have gotten it to work in the past by doing the ascending selection. I will try disabling the ports on the next install and report back.

Bringing back an old thread - Ace, I'm trying to disable the ports as you suggested but when I provision the module as PRI, only port 701 shows up. If I make it DTM/T1, then all 24 ports show up under the ports list. How do I disable the ports on the module when it is provisioned as PRI? It's a 3.0.

Since this BCM50 was a 3.0, I wanted to try to see if the partial Pri problem had been fixed but the Telco had set the PRI up as a full T1, so maybe next time.

I no longer have access to a BCM for testing, so unless I can remember how it is done, I can't help.
