BCM50 1.0 i2050 and Vista

Does anyone know what is required to make the i2050 work on Windows Vista? Am I required to purchase the i2050 2.0 software and upgrade this with the 2.55 file from Nortel.com? Will this work on a 1.0 or is this only for the 2.0? My BCM is at 1.0 as the upgrade cost is a little expensive.

IP 2050 Softphone
Operating System Software:
Microsoft Vista® (requires maintenance release 255 or later)

However this is also listed:
Business Communications Manager 50 Release 2.0 and later

Has anyone run the 2.0 Softphone on a 1.0 BCM?
