Hi All,

Have a BCM50 1.0 2 yellow lights solid fan is on constant cannot reset, when power is cycled does the same thing. Is it the drive or the main unit. tried reset button, does nothing.

sounds like the HDD has gone bad, do u have an image and a backup, also you will need the keycode file... get hold of a 40 or 80 meg SATA drive them re-image it add the patches then add the backup, once this has been done you can then add the keycode file.

Have backup and keycode file, I should be able to just get a 1.0 drive and replace load backup and keycode file and it should be good correct?

Yes a release 1.0 image will be fine. When you do a restore, the keycodes will also be installed if you are saving to the original BCM 50 unit.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Try Image with same HD...you could get back to live the BCM..

you can of course stuff a level 1/level 2 reset up, so it won't boot at all. If you change the HDD for a new 50r1, theoretically this should resolve, however even then it may not (you may have stuffed the boot sequence up)...possible however unlikely. There is a serial connection on the 50 motherboard which Avaya can access however anyone outside the manufacturer cannot.

If the 50 suddenly showed two ambers, and nothing was done (including a failed level 1/level 2 reset), then I'd never try to recover to the old HDD personally. Albeit you could attach it to a PC and look at the partitions to see if they are there.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the input, replacing HDD this morning will let you know if that resolves the issue.
