BCM50.06 defaulted back to R2 by customer, and won't take upgrade back to R6

I have a BCM50.02 that was previously upgraded to a R6, (This is a system I took over from another vendor), customer was having some issues, instead of calling me, they did some Google detective work and learned how to do a level 2 reset on the system, I have no idea why. Needless to say it messed it up.

When I accessed the system, it is defaulted back to the R2 image it was from the factory (apparently the factory image patch was never applied, by the former vendor). I have Acronis and the files necessary to upgrade any H/D to any release, and I re-imaged this unit to an R6.

My problem is this, the system will not boot with the R6 H/D. They don't have the original KC for the upgrade anywhere, so I can't even use the R6 factory upgrade s/w to go from the R2 to the R6. I re-imaged the H/D back to the R2 and it boots fine. This would be ok if they had the KC file for the R2 so that I could get the ports working, but KRS says it's a R6 and the file I have is for the R6 which does me no good.

Anyone ever run into this issue? And if so...how did you resolve it?

In KRS retrieve the LIC file you see (key code).
Add the key code then do the upgrade.
Then do the Factory Image.

I used Acronis 2010 along with the Avaya 6 *.tib images for a release 6.0 system last week after I had ran into the same problem. In my case the system rolled back to 1.0.

The fact that you can boot up an ealier system is good as it means that your BIOS is good. Please contact me via the link below if you require any more assistance as it took me a while to get a good image.

All the best
