I have a 6.0 450 that has 28 IP clients and we had 27 IP phones functioning for well over a year and would use the 28th seat for remote testing/troubleshooting via a IP2050 softphone. Recently a IP phone would not reconnect to the BCM.
IP set resources are set at Max.
Testing to date:
De-registered DN and then tried to re-register. Phone boots to Pswd and DN. Enter Password and DN and then it just sits there at "connecting to server". I look at the IP terminal details of the DN and it shows the phone now has a IP address.

BCM Monitor shows:
27 of 28 licenses used
27 Enabled
26 connected

If I de-regeister the DN again BCM Monitor shows:
26 of 28 Licenses used
26 enabled
26 connected.

I swapped the phone to make sure it was not a phone issue. Tried De-registering other DNs and this one would register fine but then the other DN would get stuck at "Connecting to server" with the same results as above.

I have installed many BCM's with All or partial IP sets and have not run into this issue before. Latest .SU update is at 17 which is the last update published for 450 R6.

Everything goes according to plan except the final connection where the display reads the DN and other button functions.

I saw a similar post, thread1361-1672997, but the solution was never given.

Looking for some other Idea's before opening a case with Avaya.

Tried that also and it works fine. Like I said, the BCM sees the phone, I can ping it from the BCM and visa vera, the system sees the IP of the phone and even says Online but it does not show up in Active sets only in all DN.s and it is bold like it is not in use.

I did find a later SU .19 update that I am going to load tonith to see what happens.

Thanks for the reply.

The phone I was having problems with was a 2004 set. I was able to register the phone the following day after I loaded update BCM450.R600.SU.System-019.201312-1, but it was under wierd circumstances. When I first got to site I was not able to register the phone post Update.

I was logged in via the OAM port checking another problem with a GASM8 module and the cusotmer walks in and tells me all the phones were down and they were blinking. I tried to change screens in EM and it did nothing, (Lost connectivity to the BCM) Looked at the switch and saw nothing but Green LEDS, everything looked normal. I waited a good 5 minutes to see if it would show signs of a reboot but it just did nothing but show me green LEDS. I eventually turned the switch off using the power switch in the back and then started it up again. When it was finished booting up and things were back to normal I was able to register the IP 2004 set.

So, this gets better. I often will register a IP 2050 softphone for trouble shooting etc. When i returned to my office I VPN'ed into the site and tried to register the softphone. I ended up with the same problem.

by the way This site has 27 IP clients and there are 27 working IP sets after I got the last one registered.

I entered the Registeration password and then the DN and the phone display just sits at "Connecting to server". Looking at Elemenet Manager I see in the DN's IP terminal details that the phone is enabled and the BCM sees the IP address. I then open BCM Monitor and go the IP Devices tab to see that 28 of 28 Licenses are in use, 28 are enabled and only 27 are connected.

Exactly the same problem I was having before.

At this point I am stumped.

Any Ideas?

Is that a phase 1 phone set by any chance? If the stickers are still on the back it should say phase 1 somewhere on one of the stickers but even still, you can easily tell by checking whether or not the set has the siver bezel around the screen. If it's not silver, then it's a phase 1 set and won't work on the system now.

Double checked and they are all Phase 2 sets. Thanks though.
