I have a customer with a BCM400 Rls4.0 and would like to know if anybody has used the IP softphone in the following type of application:
Customer currently call forwards their telephones at night to a cell phone via manually call forwarding a telephone.
Each evening before leaving, the last person out of the office presses FWD and enters 9 + telephone number.
All incoming calls now forward to the number entered and the on call person answers calls accordingly.

Problem: In the event that the on-call person is not able to receive calls, for any reason, the customer would like the ability to re-forward the telephone without having to go back to the office, cancel forward and then press FWD and enter 9 + a different telephone number.

Resolution: Customer can login to the BCM via the softphone, cancel FWD on softphone and re-forward softphone to another number thus saving someone a trip back to the office.

Will the BCM follow the external call forward of a softphone?
Can a softphone forward calls externally?
If the user is not logged in to the softphone, will calls still forward?

Yes it will work like you want it to. You will need to check the box "dn keep alive" in element manager so it will always forward.
