We have a customer with a BCM400 (3.7) with PRI for external calls. They have QSIG to Meridian 1. I/c digits from the exchange is 6 digits. Private network numbering is 4 digits.

What the customer is looking for is the ability to breakout via the Meridian1 if their PRI drops. So for example, we set a dest code of 79 to route across the QSIG, absorb 1. We tested this, and when it breaks out of the M1, it will stop after 4 digits. Is this because of the Private Network numbering scheme?
Also, is it possible to set it up the other way, so that the M1 can send netwok code followed by 9 and destination number to use the BCM PRI circuit.

Sorry if the information is a little sparse, I have installed quite a few BCM's but this is the first request I have had for this scenario.

Yes.
The private network is limiting the digits.
Build another route from the BCM to the M1 and make the DN type on the route "Public".
Private DN length equates to the BCM saying ... how many digits are you going to dial on a private network call before I know you've finished dialing and I can send the digits.

Thanks SD,

Do I have to configuring anything for digits coming from the Meridian 1 to break out over the BCM?

It will be similar to the Option.
Whatever the BCM users dial to grab an outside line will need to be sent from the Option.
You will also need to build a Remote Access Package that allows the call to jump off your pt-to-pt trunk and on the outgoing trunk group.
