I have a customer with an existing BCM400 and wants to install a BCM50 at a new branch location. Customer wants the BCM50 to grab dial tone and ext from the BCM400. I am new to SIP trunking and need help with steps to config both BCM or point me to documents that can help me set this up.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!!

What do you mean when you say "grab dial tone and ext from the BCM400"? Are you trying to dial the PSTN from the 50 through the 400 or do you just want phones on the 50 site to be conected to the 400?

Can you provide more detail of what you're trying to accomplish?

telcodog,

THANKS for responding. The customer wants to network the 2 BCMs together for centralized voicemail and xferng of calls between sites. Each sites has a Westell 7500 RNS DSL modem and the BCM400 has a PRI.

You first will need sip lic. and mcdn lic. on both sytems.

It's only dialtone-VZ

The step most people miss here is setting up remote packages and forgetting that the remote system needs to send the PSTN route access digit to the local system.
