I posted this on the Norstar system forum, but it's probably better to go here.

So here is the scenario. Customer has a BCM400 and needs to allow remote management of the BCM through IP outside of the network. They only have 1 static IP from their ISP. They have a Sonicwall firewall with NAT enabled and would like to do port forwarding on the remote management requests to the private IP address they are going to give the BCM400 on their network.

Is this doable? and what info is required to set this up?

If you are at the site and can connect to the BCM on there LAN, then you would be able to connect from anywhere if there firewall alows it. it has nothing to do with the BCM, it's all up to there IT Dept. the company I last worked for I would just put in and I would get the Login screen for my normal PC user/password and I would be in the system just as if I was on site. I would connect to any site by using the IE and UM.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

What i have been doing lately, especially with BCM 50 and BCM 400 4.0, i setup remote access through logmein either to an extra computer hooked up to the network or the IT managers PC.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
