Hi everyone,

We have a BCM400 with i2002 phones. Our network infrastructure consists of Nortel ethernet 470 switches (PoE). For some reason, the PoE will not come up for any nortel ip phones. We even purchased the PoE splitters for the i2002 phones without luck. We've plugged in standard 802.3af products and they come up immediately.

Are there special settings within the switch to enable PoE for the Nortel sets?

thanks.

Are these new sets or refurbished newly purchased? Some of the older model 2002 and 2004's don't work on POE. You have to use a local power supply.

A good way to know is the set colour. If they are dark grey, get yourself a Nortel power supply and see if that works.

Well does not matter which Nortel sets we use. As mentioned, we have even purchased the power splitter with no luck.

I am suspecting it is a setting within the Ethernet Switch.

Anyone else have such issues?
