Hi Everyone! Hope 2-2-2010 is going well!
Was changing out programming at this site from a T-1 to PRI.

Could not get it to come up as a PRI. When I checked the "administration -> Trunk Module Metrics -> D Channel -> Layer 2 VTERM -> = Deactivated...
It never came up as "IDLE" or "Disabled" just "Deactivated".

First question.
Has someone gotten this to work with a MITEL before? Any tips?
The MITEL is running on a card that has two (PRI) trunks on it.

Settings on the system work with T-1. Just didn't when we changed over to the PRI. (by the way. The system goes through CO facilities, that are supposed to send all information back and forth. Before the change out to PRI, the CO and both ends, MITEL and BCM changed the "T-1 Parameters" to ESF, B8ZS".

Now. The settings we tried.

NI-2 (that is the only one i saw as logical.)
NSF-extension "None"
B-Channel Selection "Descending Sequential" Does that start at the top and Descends?
Clock "Primary External" (MITEL set his up for "A")
Interface Levels "ISDN"
Framing "ESF"
Line Coding "B8ZS"
Internal CSU "checked"
CSU Line build "0dB"

No Call-by-call Service.

Trunk port details was showing a little bit wierd. The DTM is on BUS 7. and only port 701 was showing and that showed as IDLE.
All 23 Channels 61-82 were "Provisioned".

Oh..one more thing. After the settings above, we did a shutdown in software and a hardware power reset. Still having the same problem.

"D-Channel" showed "De-activated"
Port 701 was showing "IDLE" and later on (disabled by user) but no other ports!

Can anyone "shove" me in the right direction?
Thanks,
esoare

1 port is all you will see on a PRI. That is not an issue. As for the DCH not coming online, I would recommend checking on the Mitel and verify that they have the correct protocol. This would include the side. A PRI requires 2 sides on the DCH. A network side and a user side. The BCM can only be the user side. If both ends are the same, the DCH will not come up.

Thanks on the clarification.
