I am doing a move and due to the short time scale we are having to change from a PRI to BRI
The system will have to be converted to BRI from PRI connectivity this will mean the installation of 8-channels of ISDN2e system with 20 DDI's

are there any major config changed needed???

thanks

stu

Change the Trunk module from PRI to BRI
Ensure all extns have access to Pool A
Might have to remove Destination codes and Routes and set your Line access code against Pool A
Ensure that the settings are correct on Physical lines

thanks, is there any dip switch setting or recourse issues i have to check

If the Media Bay Module is going to go on the same Bus, set dip switches to match the PRI module

Also, as you are using DDI's, against each Physical line, ensure that Answer mode is Auto.
When you enable to BRI module, port 4 might flash slowly, this is due to it downloading firmware.
Where are you located?

I am in the UK and the job is in Bury St Edmunds.#

do i have to change anything in the "loops" field?

and the pri will be in BlocA will have to change the preferd pool to pool A

so have a bullet point list
copy dip switched from PRI module to BRI module
in Resources change from PRI to BRI on the correct Bus
Change Pool from BlocA to Pool A
Set DDi target lines to to Auto Answer

will chaging the cct type change the Bus??

I take it you have a version 4 system.
In Telephony Resources, against the respective Bus for your Trunk module, highlight it then Disable, I would advise powering the system down, removing the PRI, insert the BRI, power up. Then back into Telephony Resources, set the MBM to BRI, then enable.
Once it has established, connect up your Isdn2, then Configuration/Telephony/Lines go to Enabled Physical lines, set the Pool type to Pool A.
On the preferences tab to each line, set Answer mode to Auto.
Under Call Routing, remove Dest codes and Routes (unless you are programmed with LCR). Then go to Line Pools, highlight A and add 9 as dest code.
Double check that you have not lost programming on your target lines

tbh, i have very little info on what level of software it is or what the config is like its next weekend is the move and i am covering the saturday bit of the move but another engineer is doing the friday and monday bits ..

All my BCM knowledeg is from hands on engineering, but not really touched to many bcm400's and even fewer PRI/BRI systems....

got a general overview but need some guidance as its a staurday so need to cover all bases.

Must be version 4 as you are currently using BlocA, on the windows versions it would have been PRI-A
