I know that the Prime Set is tied to the first port. So whatever set you put on the first port will be Prime. I know that I can go on-site and change cross connects to get a new set for prime.

But can I do it in software through Element MGR?

BTW, I'm a newbie to BCM's

Thanks for the help.

Prime Set dosen't always mean the main set.ie taregt lines. But I think you are talking about the Recepts phone. You can make any phone the main phone by programing the lines on it and making it the zero out in the AA and VM and assigning the gen del MB to that ext.

Lines 241-245 are assigned to ring on about ten sets. In programming the lines are set to roll to Prime if no answer. For some reason the prime set is in the breakroom on another floor. Our new policy states that no set can roll to VM. Calls must be answered. So I was going to change Prime to another set in the lobby that all can hear.

Similar situation - I took out the prime set on the PRI so no one downstairs would roll to a phone upstairs. In other words the call will stay at that phone or its targer. Will this cause a problem? thanks in advance.

sidroski. that sounds like what I need to do. How do you remove the prime set? Just remove the set at port 201?

In programing under lines .You need to know what the system line number is show the line and next to prime set change it there. ARE you sure that the Forward no answer is not where this problem is.That is under capibilities in set programing.

cook, what I really need it to do is go nowhere. There are 10 sets that ring when these lines are called. If I go to Preferences under the line, at the If Busy prompt the only options are To Prime or Busy Tone.

Didn't mean to hijack your question but mine is the same. I went under active lines and blanked out the prime set column. I guess I'll find out if that generates a problem.
