We have a BCM400 with a ISDN BRI S/T interface connected to a Cisco 2800 series router with a VIC2 2BRI NT/TE and will be used to route calls between different European countries and North america as well.

Is the Nortel BRI card compatible with the cisco BRI card? The cisco only supports NET3 and QSIG. We tried installing a QSIG keycode on the BCM but is this only for European setups or will it work in North America? The BCM only allowed us to use NI-2 still.

Any help or experience would be appreciated.

Never seen QSIG over BRI only over PRI..

I'm not familiar with NA protocols, but i have never used BRI in your situation always PRI

Also in my experience putting any PRI / BRI equipment on a Cisco router requires an ISDN cross over cable.

We get a link light from the BRI card but nothing else works, It's probably a protocol problem. BRI is very common in Europe and they use different standards than North America, but I can't confirm my thoughts about it. Nortels docs suck on a good day.
