I have tried to research and have not seen a definative answer. We have a BCM400 and want to add a remote site with a BCM 50. We want to use Centralized Voice Mail on the BCM 400 Via the VIOP Trunks. Do I need to buy any additional Keycodes other than the (4)IP Trunk Keycode for the 400 and the (4) IP Trunk Keycode for the 50? Do we need MCDN since they are both BCM's? I had heard you only need the MCDN if integrating with a Meridian.

One more thing if you don't mind- How much luck have you guys had with VOIP phones across the Internet. We have a T-1 1.54 and want to add 8 VOIP phones in the world(most users have Cable Modem) and still use the 4 VOIP Trunks. Bandwidth wise, all should be good, but how stable are the remote phones?

I have a customer with a similar set up. I have a 2 Meg solution at the central site. The remote sites have DSL connections. I have been experiencing a few problems with inconsistency on the network all calls are good on minute and then poor the next. I am presently running snifer on the network to see if I can pin point to a certain area.

How are you setting up the network? (VPN)
What codec are you using for the phones?
What are your ping times for the sites? (Anything over 200ms will cause problems and will create clipping)

They have a full 1.5 at the main site and 1.28 at the remote sites, (4 channels for voice) The remote sites (will be 3) will all be using tghe same T-1 Provider so hopefully hop count and ping time will be down. (Have not setup sites yet so I don't know the ping times right now.) They will be using a Cisco VPN Solution and I have always had good luck with the 729 codec. As for the phones, they will be with Cable modem but only one phone per house/office. Does this answer your questions?

It's actually a True T1 full data speed both ways, up and down.

Some Data Traffic but we are using QOS to make sure Voice is Priority. Does anyone have an answer to the second part:

"Do I need to buy any additional Keycodes other than the (4)IP Trunk Keycode for the 400 and the (4) IP Trunk Keycode for the 50? Do we need MCDN since they are both BCM's? I had heard you only need the MCDN if integrating with a Meridian.>

The MCDN is for private networking it allows you to do the SL1 protocol.
The following thread was tying 2 BCM's together using VOIP
trunks.

I have a 3.7 so cool. I have gotten a few no's and 1 yes but since mrmarshall has his own website and all I will go with that answer. No offense anyone.
