We recently installed a BCM400 4.0 with PRI T1, DSM32, 4x16, and two ASM8's. We have 1 POTS line connected to the first line port on the 4x16 module. That line will not disconnect when the far end hangs up while in voice mail, causing ring backs and fast-busy voice mail messages.

I have rebooted the system and have turned on and off the supervision on the line, as well has had a telco tech come out and confirm that the disconnect signal was on the line. Nothing I can do seems to work.

Anyone have a similar situation or have any advice on how to get the line to disconnect?

In the UK, we had to change callpilot settings from Callpilot to Norstar Voicemail (NVM).

It still holds the line but only a fraction of the time that it did when set to Callpilot.

If you have PRI and DID why not use a DID on the Vmail, That's what I do.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

acewarlock - The customer is using a PRI T1, the POTS line is a lead line in one of the hunt groups that forwards to a DID in a busy situation - the customer wanted an analog back up in the event that the T1 went down.
