Is there anyone that has set up Remote page over Voip Trunks? Some help would be appreciated. I have two BCMs that require this and as was previously stated in a thread in 2005 (with no real solution). The sites have the remote package set for paging to yes for the pool. What needs to be programmed additionally to get it to work?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Far as I know it doesn't work - something about the IP trunks needing to be set up to answer with DISA, which isn't possible.

I've read here that people have seen it work in training classes, but can't remember how it was done.

I have not tried the remote page over VOIP on the BCM. However, valcom has a unit that will do it that you can connect to the BCM. It has worked great for us. Just go on there web-site and it is easy to find. There sales support is pretty knowledgable too.

Thanks Biv..and db.., Yeah db, not a problem the other way...this had to be over VoIP trunks, thanks anyhow.

Here's a possible solution (expensive, but possible). Algo is coming out with a USB to POTS adapter for a PC running the 2050 softphone. You could then have a remote PC running the 2050 softphone with this adapter, then a regular POTS paging adapter hooked to that. Call the extension of the softphone, the adapter then rings the paging adapter, which picks up and volla, remote paging. Whew.

BTW, I talked to the Algo folks at INNUA and told them that a VoIP to paging-type adapter might be a product they could sell. Or an VoIP-type adapter similar to their popular TDM AuxBox line to handle ring relay, etc.

Wow... Thanks for your idea.

You can also use a standalone PC with a sound card, put the 2050 in it's own page zone and hook the output of the soundcard to the input of the page amp. Works, and no extra hardware required.
