BCM3.6 and HP 1220 Fax

Does anybody have experience of the incompatability of the above. The fax is connected to ATA2. When modem connected to ATA2 for testing all ok. When fax connected, will not accept incoming or let you send outgoing.

Everything tested and set.

ATA settings; Tones=No
Dvc=Modem

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Further information. We can get the fax to answer, but the handshake tones are so low, it will not communicate. We connected test butt onto ATA, getting the same, low transmission.
The fax is programmed with a target line for DDI working.
We cannot find any timers to change, or any settings on the BCM in respect of poor transmission.

ive connected a bcm200 3.6 using ata2 to hp fax 920 ... and it works fine
try changing the ata and/or the fax machine

There was a patch just releaseed at the beginnig of the month to fix fax negotiation with some faxes. sounds like it might apply to your problem. I know it is valid for the 3.6, not sure about other releases though...
