BCM1000 DASS2

Does the PRI interface module on the BCM1000 support both EISND & DASS2 nativley.

We currently have it installed on an EuroISDN ciruit at one office and plan to move the unit to another which currently has DASS2 setup.

Will it just plug into the NTE and understand that its running DASS2?

yeah the DTM module will support DASS you just need to set it as DASS on the module and ensure CRC4 is swtched off.

will it accept dass2 which is supplied via BNC to RJ45 from the NTE?

you will need to put a G703 ballon in between to convert the RJ45 to BNC.

Can i just use the cable that currently connects the NTE to the old Norstar MICS system?

As the NTE also has RJ45 connectors on the bottom, if i just plugged a CAT5 into there then into the BCM module, would that work or does the NTE need to be reconfigured to send the data out via another port?

If i cant do either of the above where do i get a 'G703 ballon'.

Yes that will be fine that is the cable that goes to the TJF and is a krone strip with a type 73 connector. Eventually finishing as RJ45.

Yep thats how it is done, on a krone strip with mini BNC connectors then to the RJ45.

Where can you get them from?

I thought you had them. My advice would be to order a G703 balun from blackbox.

I did not realise they where so expensive will have to be a bit more careful in the future.You want the female version G703fuk
