I have a BCM 4.0 that we're having problems with the IP Phones both 2004 and softphone. The problem is that when calls are transfered to an answer DN that appears on an IP phone the phone only rings once and then disappears? From the callers perspective, the phone rings 4 times and goes to voicemail, but the IP phone user, only hears a short ring burst and then the call disappears. Calls transfered to the actual IP set DN work fine and all call forwarding settings and DND on busy have been looked at. Any ideas for a known bug or explanation?

i know there are 3 different ways the set-up your ans dns now they come out of the box as basic but since your in this lil jam i would chg the ans style to extended. I have only had to chg this one other time and off hand I can't even remember what the issue was at the time but it fixed the problem...

I'm aware of basic, extended and enhanced and they usually have to do with how the voicemail works in relationship to the primary dn. In this case though, the ringing does not stay with the set with the answer dn long enough to allow the user to answer the call, it instead goes immediately to voice mail. That to me seems a software flaw, possibly 4.0, and I wanted to know if anyone else has found that and is aware of whether there's a patch or fix for it? Let me know.

I'm still waiting for an answer from someone on this problem as to whether a patch is required to fix it. I has to due with transfering a call to the primary set in the office that has an answer dn (with appear and ring) on an ip set off premises. The call has one quick ring burst on the ip set and then dissappears for the 4 rings until it goes to voicemail as per call fwd busy on the main set?
