Customer with 2.5 BCM1000. Went through configurator, and it spit out that the following had to be ordered.

1 P NT7B10AAGDE5 BCM 4.0 Hard Drive FRU
1 P NTAB3605 BCM 4.0 Doc CD Kit
1 P NTKC0632 BCM Upg eAuthLic BCM3.7-BCM4.0

I can understand the hard drive, and the doc cd.

The eAuthlic sais 3.7-4.0. What is this?

What I am afraid of is quoting the cust and then having additional licenses (voicemail) to buy!

Also any other things to run software wise? Would the "upgrade tool" be required even though they are replacing the Hard drive? CPU, Memory?

Customer has about 40 Mailboxes, just 1 DSM 32, 1 DTIM and an analog trunk MBM.

thanks so much!

p.s. I am mostly a Norstar / Meridian / Succession guy.

When you upgrade to 4.0 you have to have a valid upgrade keycode to let you migrate all your licensed features
onto the new software version. Without this keycode you would
lose the voicemail seats you purchased originally. On a hard
drive upgrade there is no reason to run the upgrdade tool, you will have to rebuild the voicemail and should have sufficient documentation available to reference just in case you need to rebuild the telephony side of the box as well.

OK,

So no other hardware changes other than the HD and the key-codes.

I was curious about the key code wording. It seems to me that it is a key code going from 3.7 to 4.0!

"1 P NTKC0632 BCM Upg eAuthLic BCM3.7-BCM4.0"

Or is it to upgrade any previous release to 3.7 or 4.0?

Thanks for the previous replies!

All keycodes for the BCM 2.x/3.x are in a specific format. In order to work on a 4.x system, they need to be converted. For that to happen, your system ID will need to appear to Nortel that it is "upgraded" to the 4.x format, hence the 3.7 to 4.0 upgrade. There is a 3.6 to 4.0 upgrade keycode, but it runs about $100 more.

uhmm... now I am a bit confused.

So, do I need something else? Or is it ok, taking the 2.5 to 4.0 keycodes with NTKC0632?

Thank you for your responses so far!

Like mentionned in your first thread,
NT7B10AAGDE5 BCM 4.0 Hard Drive FRU
NTAB3605 BCM 4.0 Doc CD Kit
NTKC0632 BCM Upg eAuthLic BCM3.7-BCM4.0
is all you need to bring your bcm to 4.0.

Thank you all for your input!
