BCM1000 2.5 to 3.7 upgrade

Does anyone know if you can just get a 3.6, 3.7, 4.0 HDD and just plug it in then program or when you use the upgrade path does it re-flash the MSC with new firware and or change the MSC?

I know the keycodes need to be re-entered
It has a 20gig drive
256 megs of RAM
MSC1a and 2 PEC3's

3.6 or 3.7, the answer is yes, but you need to run a universal profile. Your keycodes won't change.

4.0 would be trickier and may not work. Also you will still need to buy the upgrade package in order to convert your keycodes to the new 4.0 format.

When I did the upgrade from 2.5 to 3.6, I had to buy the hard drive, and 2 flash cards. All my keycodes remained the same. However, when I did the 4.0 upgrade on the same box, it was a royal battle. I won that battle after about 5 attempts. Now life is sweet on version 4.0.
