We have 6 buildings connected via IP trunks using BCM 400s running 4.0.2.21d. 3 of the buildings have a single PRI connection which provides incoming and outgoing service for that building and one other building. Calls between buildings all use our internal network.
We are trying to integrate a Cisco router running call manager express and have been able to make calls in and out of the BCMs. I can call any Cisco connected phone via the routes I have setup. I added a new range of extensions that begin with 28 so my test phones are 2801, 2802, etc.
I can't call into a BCM directly from the Cisco phones. For example, DNs that begin with 20xx are all on BCM 1 (IP 10.5.1.1). If I setup my dial-peer to send calls for 20xx to 10.5.1.1, the call fails. I do see the VOIP line appear in BCM monitor, but it immediately disappears. However if I set the dial-peer to send the call to another BCM, that BCM accepts and sends the call correctly to BCM 1 and the extension rings as it should.
It seems as if I can call any extension via the BCM except extensions that the BCM directly connects to. I'm assuming it's something with public and private lines on the BCM but that's an area I'm not very familiar with.
Thanks,
Robert
