Just had a BCM installed and were trying to test the softphone to see if we are going to get a few licenses for our remote sites. I have Site to Site VPN's setup but I'm running into a little problem connecting to the BCM. Everything works fine from my site I can connect with the soft phone and ping it. When I go to one of the other sites I cant connect or Ping it. But I can Ping all my other servers and workstations. The installer set Lan1 to one of my public IP's and connected it to one of my switchs(all systems here have public ip's). Lan 2 is not connected. Published IP is set to Lan1.

The installer said i need to put it on my DMZ or VPN in. Well he doesnt seem to understand Site to Site VPN. he's gonna get some of the other tech's to call me but I know something isn't setup correctly. Can someone tell me some things to look at or test?

Thanks
Mike

need a network diagram for that with all addresses in it

4 sites
Site 2,3 and 4 have VPNs to site1 BCM is in site1

site1 63.X.X.1-127

site2 63.x.x.129-191 site3 63.x.x.193-254

site4 192.x.x.x Nating (haven't checked this one)

maybe the routes to the other sites are missing at the bcm

Well I'm new to the BCM so I'm not sure about the routing in it. What I can't explain is from sites 2,3 and 4 I can ping and map drives and browse site1. but not the BCM.

print the routing table on the router and/or any pc on the site where the bcm is located. if it is windows use "route print" and paste the information in here.

then login to the bcm via ssh or serial choose the command line utility and do the same there

the first thing we should do is to compare the BCMs routing table to the routing table of another machine on the same site. this machine needs to be pingable from site one or two

The routing table I posted was my computer. I'm in site1 with the BCM and all sites can ping my computer

im working on it... will tell you (hopefully good) news later ;)

what is the default gateway on the network the bcm is on?
Check and make sure that under netlink manager the BCMs default gateway matches that of the network

and check the routing entries of your BCMs default gateway with IP 10.10.11.3.
maybe the routes to the other networks are missing there.
also execute a traceroute on the BCM (tracert -d 63.x.x.x)
you will see then how far the BCM can get and where the problem lies.

One of there techs called me this morning. There was no default gateway on the system. mrmarshall hit it on the head.

Thanks for all your help

mmmarshal you were right on the money on this one. I was having the same issues. I posted a question about ipveiw just now maybe you have a idea on that.
Thanks
Mr. Brent
