I am upgrading a BCM 400 3.6 to 4.0 and recieved health check failure say ing "insufficient disk space on drive E:\. How do I correct this problem

telnet into system or use a serial cable (9600 8n1) and go to command prompt (option 7)
enter E:
cd\backups
del all old backups.
also can check log files and delete all old logs.
this should free up enoght space to run precheck.
I suggest running precheck at least twice.

CDR files take up a lot of space also, I always delete them before an upgrade just to make it go a little faster. to delete them:

Select option 7 (command line)

Type the commands in the following order:

d:

cd data files\nortel networks\call detail recording

If you don't care about saving any of them, type in del *.*

I agree with justaskwhy. Someone did a backup to the bcm instead od sending it their pc. All too common in the old NT days. You can actually delete all the files on the E drive without hurting anything.

If it was CDR causing the problem, you would get a specific error telling you that your CDR records exceed 200MB (or something to that effect) and there is a specific procedure to delete those files. Just make sure you login using the default username and password or else you will get an error telling you that you don't have access.

Good Luck with it.
