Thinking about some official training but I have read some negative comments about GK training on BCM, thinking about getting the I& M for BCM CBT,(Global Knowledge) is it any good? better then the class?

Thanks

wichie

Sorry what is GK ?

If your in the uk getting training with itel is the best you can get i believe the task based guides and Nortel training is written by them anyway..

You can not beat hands on training i have no experience with CBT stuff but you must get some hands on ..

If its not broke tweak it..

What you can do is to register with Avaya, (I mean Nortel for the time being!) webs site and you can download the ITEL guides. They are well compiled and very easy to follow.

It's 110 Megs, but the link states it's only 90 bytes!.

All the best

Thanks FB I was just looking at the online version, the zip ver. will be better though.

Global Knowledge.

I did the BCM Bootcamp last year and a Callpilot 5.5.
Both instructors were from Richardson, Texas and courses were in Toronto.

1. Instructors great.
2. Proctored exams - horrid in this constantly changing field and totally out to lunch.

I wonder if my 1987 Toshiba Perception II certifications allow me to put TPSS on my email signature?

Because they are closed book/closed system you are just regurgitating useless fact rather than knowing how to use the NTP's properly or find it on the system. You realize that you are being to taught to pass the test, not install and maintain the system.

Hands-on Troubleshooting was such a strong component of the old SL1/M1 large system I&M courses. Unfortunately, there is no troubleshooting component in the training.

I like Mitel and like AVAYA, renaming their training facilities a 'University' is insulting. Neither have a University charter nor can they be considered degree granting institutions. A fortnight in Calgary, although enjoyable, is not a degree.
