Is there such a thing as a book or installation manual for a BCM 50/200/400? Im looking for a book along the lines of the MCSE Books you get for Microsoft Exams. With all of the technical documentation you may need to install a BCM. If there is anything out there can someone please point me in the right direction please and thank you..

There are no certification kinda books

You could look at the Global Knowledge courses.

I keep a huge file of tech-tips threads. I edit them and file them under BCM, Norstar, etc. I find this the best "tips" file ever.

I went to the GK BCM bootcamp and it sucked, honestly. The instructor was an AT&T tech, never even worked on Norstars so he was teaching from the book with no real experience. It was a waste of money and time. I have since on my own taken the tests and gotten certified. GK isn't always a good thing. Nortel really screwed up when they brought in Gk instead of doing training in house.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Went to the bootcamp. The instructor did not do anything the first week but quit. The second week, the instructor tried to "teach to the test" and did not cover anything.
Managed to get a 25% credit, lost airfare, work time, and respect for GK.

That said, the CBTs with the books can be a lot of help if you are not in a place where you can share info with coworkers.

I think it is just like everything else. Sometimes you get a bad one. I went for BCM50 school and loved it. I guess it depends on who your instructor is.

My class got a 50% refund because the class was so bad. they only covered a few things in class and wanted us to do the rest on line. If i wanted a CBT I would ave taken a CBT course. It was a waste of money and time.

A1 Teletronics gives a 5 Day BCM class. It is much more "real world". Follow the Ad link at the top of this forum and check out the training tab.

I have a class going on right now and one of the participants went to the BootCamp. He said, "I have learned more in the first two days of this class than I did in the other two week class."

Went to Global Connect and got a 100% credit to replace the course, or any two one week courses with hotel included.
I think that GK will be listening now that there are competing training partners coming on line.
The new company is Innovatia.
