Can anyone provide me with step by step instructions on how to access BCM via remote modem?

Use what ever program you want to dial the modem and when it answers click on the IE browser and enter the IP address and you should be in.

what program do you reccommend? Procomm, hyperterm?

You need to build a dialup networking connection in Windows (same type as if you RAS into a server, or dial up to an ISP).

Dear,

I'm using the built-in modem in the BCM which using a normal analog line. I did the setup and it works fine. But i need to configure the ISDN dial up for remote access which BCM already suppot it.

So did any one have the configuration steps for this ISDN dial-up.

Warm Regards,

Alaa

Dear Marshall,

I have done the same procedure in the above link, but still I'm not able to dial into BCM and access it remotely. When I run the BCM monitor it's showing that the line is altering and then it get disconnected and the remote user getting busy tone.

Please let me know if there is any another setting I have to do.

Regards,

Alaa

Dear Marshall,

Creat a PPP Network dialing. Then when it answers use IE Browser address just like IP connection.

Dear,

Thnaks alot. But could you please send the setting steps to creat the PPP Network Dialing and how it can be connected with the ISDN Dialup.

Thnaks in advance.

Regards,

Alaa

I'm assuming Windows XP, but Windows 2000 is similar, previous versions are a bit different.

Right click on My Network Places, click Properties. Select Make New Connection. Click Next. Select "Connect to the network at my workplace". Click Next. Select Dialup Connection, click Next. Enter a name, phone number, etc as prompted. Enter a description for the connection.

I will revert to Mr Marshall for the ISDN dialup portion of your question - not sure if you're in the UK or not and using BT Race or something like that. I'm assuming you are not in the US, as all we need to do is plug in an analog modem line to the BCM and run out the door...

Dear,

We are using UK standards. And I tried the same setting you gave me but I'm getting message that the remote computer is out of order.

I know there is something missing or something that i dont know.

Thanks.

Alaa

Don't you just hook an analog line to the BCM moden? If so just call that number.

That only works in the North American profile. He's in the UK.

You can install an ATA and assign a target line to it. Then plug it in to the modem card on the BCM if you have one fitted. You can not dial into the BCM using the ISDN RAS access from an analog line. You need to be dialing from an ISD terminal adapter on an ISDN line.It will not work otherwise.

Marshall

Dear All,

Thank you for your support. Now I got how it works.

With my Best Regards,

I have tried thiss and I can connect but I cannot get passed a pop requiring password and domain. Is the password the same as the normal password? How do I know what domain?
