BCM page output

I just cut over from a norstar 8x24 to a bcm 400. They had overhead paging on the norstar and I moved it to the bcm page port. The paging won't work on the bcm. I figured the page port would be identical. Is this not the case? I tested the bcm page port by hooking up a speaker to it and its working fine.

The 8x24 was probably hooked to a co line. If you have a spare co hooked the page port to it the assign that line to phones that need to page. You can move the line to your page button with feature *81

It wasn't connected to a co line on the old box. It was on the violet orange which is the page port. I also tried to hook it up to a co port on the bcm and nothing.

Did you make the mini plug to connect to BCM on your own or did you use the one supplied with the BCM??

Make sure your not confusing Page Relay with normal Page T/R.

I did make the cable, but it works fine with the music on hold. I also tried both the page output and page relay just to be sure. They are using 24 volt self amplified speakers. I really didn't think this would be difficult.

Are you trying to hook up the paging to a pair on a tail???

No. Im using the page plug on the MSC.

Ensure that you are using a Stereo Plug wired to the Tip and Ring, not a Mono Plug. The page output is on the Tip and Ring of the jack, while the Sleeve is grounded. If you use a Mono Plug, you will ground the Ring side of the output.
