I have a BCM50 that I can get right into and launch Element Manager / Ping etc. but I can't get into through BCM Monitor I am getting cannot connect to IP adress " err 300 "..any clues!

Make sure that you have the latest of all patches. DE-install Element manager after patching and then re-install.
