Hi Guys,
I have a Bcm50 R6.

I have had unwanted BCM Monitor activities that I resolved by
blocking port 5060 in my Linksys router.
The problem was solved and never came back.

A few days ago, I had to replace my router and got a NetGear R7000.
During config I did not open port 5060.

Now I am getting unwanted activities again.(line channels opening and closing in BCM Monitor without having names and numbers or actual calls coming in).
I have 6 SIP trunk licences and can get up to five attacks on the monitor at the same time!!

Are there others ports or procédures that I have to do to get rid of these attacks!

Thanks Again!

SL

This problem is quite common with SIP trunks on a BCM system.

I resolved my problem by just removing the Prime set and control set from each of my sip trunks. I'm not sure which one it was, but decided it was easier to remove both of them.

Hello FireBird,

I have also tried this but it didnot work.
On an earlier post I saw your response and tried it but no.
Unless I didn't do it correctly.
I suppose the Prime Set is for unanswered lines to be rooted to Prime and Control for the Set that will Control Scheduled Services on that Line?

If so that is what I tried.(Configuration/Lines/Active VOIP Lines/Control Set and Prime Set)

What about the 5060 port?
Are there any other ports to be closed or forwarded?
Can my providor help me with this issue or does it have to do with the BCM50?

Thanks, SL

Hello Blackybear

I've checked my router and I have port UDP 5060 pointed to my BCM 50.

In Configuration,Resources, and Port Ranges, I have under the middle section UDP port 5060 added in, along with port 7002 and ports 20000 to 20249.

I also have under the left section "RTP over UDP", ports 28000 to 28249 and 30000 to 30099.

Under Configuration, Telephony, Lines, Active VoIP lines I have nothing entered in the Control Set and Prime Set columns. All my trunks are type = VoIP.

Hello FireBird,

I have tried all your settings, we almost had the same settings!
I am still having attacks!

Hum! What about fire walls?
Is it possible for you to tell me what you have forwarded on your router that has to do with the BCM50.
I think I have to many ports!

Thanks
SL

Guys,
I have finally resolved my problem.
A few weeks ago I had to replace my router.
I went from a Linksys to a Netgear R7000.
I took the time to reconfigure the new one the same way but missed
out on the SIP ALG.
On the Linksys it had to be unchecked to be disabled and on the Netgear it had to be checked to be disabled.

Thanks,
SL
