Hi all,
I was wondering if any of you have set up the BCM to receive streaming from a central server.
I have a customer with approx 80 BCM's on their network and the problem is that half the site the MOH doesnt work because their Audio MOH source is faulty or not turned on etc. I have suggested to the customer to use music manager/BCMamp but they would not like this option as it means uploading the music files to each BCM every time they change it (a lengthy process), So i was wondering has anyone got the IP music streaming off a central server (Windows) If you have what did you use (vlc/winamp etc) and how you configure the stream within that player?

I set it up on one server in my lab for testing purposes only, and it worked fine. Make sure you have the IP music streaming turned on under your application tab in each BCM. As for the MOH being faulty, I doubt this. If the streaming music on hold is set you on, then the MOH port won't work. Might check that.

On a slightly different note, is there anywhere on the internet please that the BCM will work on as I have my test BCM hooked to it.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Firebirdscrambler,
I think you misunderstood what i was trying to ask.
BCMAmp is working fine and so is the MOH on these systems. Half the time the customers forget to turn on the CD player etc thats attached to it.
What i was asking was to set up a 3rd party server somewhere on their network running some streaming software for the MOH source so the customer only has to update one server and it will stream to the 80 BCM's on their network.
I have heard that VLC is an option but have played with it and cant seem to get the settings right for the BCM.
Surely someone can point me in the right direction?
