BCM Modem Setup

I'm having trouble setting up modem access to a BCM 50. The modem connects, but I get an incorrect login message. I'm using a user and password that is in the administrator group. Can anyone send me a link to a document which details how to set this up and then log in using Element Mgr? The BCM docs are pretty vague on how to log in. I need to set this up on both BCM 50s and on BCM 400s.

Where do you configure the 9600,n,8,1? on the bcm or the remote modem?
