BCM IP PHONE I2004 ECHO

We recently switched from the 3COM NBX200 to a BCM 50 on the same network, I have the I2004 phone and the echo is so bad i stop in the middle of a conversation. Is there a setting on the individual phone? on the BCM? or Network? any thoughts are greatly appreciated Thanks in advance.
 
Probably all of the above.
Does it happen always?
Are you on spk phone or handset?
What codec are you using on the phone?
Is it a switched network? What 'else' is there on it?
 
All good questions I will ask our IT guy these and let you know the results. I am on a desk set and not using handsfree Thanks again
 
Start with all the latest patches. They are BCM50_81,73,79,82,83. Make sure to nstall 81 first. Patch 79 specifically deals with echo if I remember correctly.

teekow,senk1s, I Have a BCM50 with almost the same issue, but the echo problem on the i2004 sets is only on calls across the analog trunks. I have installed all recent patches. I am wondering if it could be a problem with the Rls of the ip sets? NTDU82BA70.
