Has anyone seen or heard how to replace a harddrive in a BCM 400? I am wondering if I had one go bad if there would be any way to replace it or have a copied drive sitting in case of failure. Just wondering....

If you have a drive that has the same image as the drive currently in the system (such as 3.6), you could install the new drive and then restore from a backup. That's the easiest method.

Not to sound ignorant here, but how do you get another drive with the same image on it. I think I understand what you are saying about having a copy of the original but how do you make it? Has it been done or is this just in theory?

What I am trying to accomplish here is if one of my BCM's hits the dirt, can I have a new drive sitting on the shelf that I can install and have the BCM going again in a couple of hours. If the answer is yes then I guess I am trying to figure out how to go about doing that.

Copy a working Drive using Ghost or someother imaging software and then copy it to a new drive. if a drive goes bad, then replace it with the ghosted drive. if you don't ahave a recent backup, you will need to renter the data.
